Financial career that started 40 years ago when I studied accountancy at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, then worked as an auditor and accountant for Glaser Wassyng & Co (family firm of accountants).
Financial controller in Seardel, a manufacturer listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
Senior Editor of the Financial Mail in Johannesburg, in a change of career that fitted in with
my love of writing and teaching about finance and stock markets.
Emigrated to New Zealand in 1988,becoming a partner in Investment Research Group, specialising in
creating and managing stock portfolios for individuals and family trusts.
Investment Research Group is sold to a listed company. I remain under contract for a few years, later joining Foundry Asset Management as Head of Investment Research.
After qualifying as an Authorised Financial Adviser (AFA), I set up Glaser Portfolio Indicators to
provide specialised investment planning for individuals and family trusts.
Married to the beautiful Pam. Two adult sons who visit us once in a while.
